For this one, how do we assume its an equilateral triangle?

I have started to fall for a few questions where we can and can’t assume stuff, so how do we tackle that? I am trying to as concretely as I can have a justification for my answers but still making a few errors.

AB is not just the distance between the centers of the 2 circles it is also the radius of their respective circles. AC is the radius of the 1st circle and BC is the radius of the second. AB=AC=BC = radius of 1st circle = radius of second circle.
