Quant Question - Doubt

Greg has this in his quant concept practice series, he told that the answer is going to be D, because of the ratios changing, but in my opinion, it should be B, as left option is not getting greater than 1/2 at any variable in the x.
If you know the answer, do let me know! Thanks

In order to have the answer D, it suffices if you find one case in which the answers are equal and another in which they are different (it is not necessary that once A is bigger, and then B). If there were exactly 9 men to 20 women, after the change the ratio is going to be 11.22 or 1/2. Thus it seems to be answer C. But if there were 18 men to 40 women, after the change the ratio would be 20:42 which is not 1/2. Consequently , you have to choose answer D.
