Quant question doubt

In a group of 120 students, each takes either chemistry or biology or both. The number who take both chemistry and biology is double the number who take only one of the two courses.

Quantity A

The number of students who take both chemistry and biology

Quantity B

60

Quantity A is greater.

Quantity B is greater.

The two quantities are equal.

The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

In the above question, it says the number of students who take both chemistry and biology is double the number in only one of the two courses, which means it is either chemistry or biology not the sum of both.

I understood like for example if A = only chemistry, c= only biology
b = both
both = 2a or 2c
in this case, the answer will be d not a.
the question felt quite tricky with wording. can somebody explain to me?
thanks in advance

Can you explain this further?
