Quant Reasoning Practice Set 3

Can someone please explain what I’m doing wrong here? I don’t understand the explanation that is provided in the GRE QR

  1. Found volume of the tank (110\times90\times70) = 2673000
  2. The above volume is the max so the volume of water should be 10% less than the volume of the tank. Volume of water = 0.9 \times 2673000 = 2405700
  3. Volume of water: 110 \times 90 \times h = 2405700
  4. h = 2405700/9900
  5. h = 243

Nope. You’ve got the logic the wrong way round - try again.

so would it be this:
lets say x is the volume of water , then 10% increase in x = volume of tank
1.1x=2673000
x=2430000
Volume of water:
L * W * H = 2430000
H = 245

Right
