For Quantity A, what if variable b is a small number like 1 and variable c is much bigger number like 100? Wouldn’t that result in 0 number of solution for both equations after getting rid of the absolute value sign? I don’t get why Quantity A would be greater than 2.

I’d appreciate it if you can help me understand this!! Thanks.

How are we supposed to determine that maximum applies so broadly in this instance? In some scenarios, I’d expect maximum to require me to still walk through the logic of how total solutions are calculated to confirm that I could be 100% certain A will be larger in every form of this equation.

Since there’s actually no way to know the total solutions for an absolute value problem without knowing anything about the relationship between a,b,c I am struggling to understand why D is not acceptable.

That’s the point. In other words you need to think on the lines of “if I could set a, b, c to whatever I want, what’s the maximum possible number of solutions”.
