Shouldn’t it’s answer be 101. Because let’s say I give 100 dollars to Bob and the remaining 900 dollars will be split equally in 9 other people, giving each of them 100 dollars. So, I give bob $101 so all others will get $99.888.. which is less than 201 which is given as the answer.
Please help me out!!
The answer must be a value that guarantees Bob receives the most, regardless of how the remaining money is distributed. From all values that provide this guarantee, you are looking for the minimum.
101 doesn’t work because there exists a distribution where Bob getting 101 doesn’t ensure that he is paid the most. One such example could be where Bob gets 101 and another employee gets 299. The rest of the employees are paid 75. This satisfies the constraint of everyone being paid at least 75, but at the same time, Bob doesn’t get paid the most in this particular configuration.
