The image doesn’t explicitly state that the graph is symmetric. So with that context in mind, even the last option can be correctly chosen with x = -1, and 3 not just the x^2-1 answer option. In the GRE test, aren’t we supposed to not take it for granted that the graph might be symmetrical even though it looks that way until and unless it’s specified? Or do I take symmetry for granted during the actual test even if it’s not specified just like in this question?
