Query about Question 7 from PrepSwift Quant Tickbox Quiz #10 (Geometry Column 1)

Hi everyone!

Greg’s answer to this question was D, by way of saying x+y+z = 2x, and we don’t know if x is 90 or not. While I understand that reasoning, I was viewing the question through the lens of the angle of x contributing to the 180 degree angle of the line extending from the triangle. I understand that x = y+z. Since x is larger than the unlabeled third angle of the triangle (being that it’s equal to two other angles of the triangle), can’t we say that x+y+z is greater than 180?

You don’t know this. The diagram is deceptive.
