Question 12 from Full Practice Test Beta 3

Current Question

At a particular train station, company A runs 4 trains per hour, company B runs 5 trains per hour and company C runs 3 trains per hour, all at equally spaced intervals. At 5:00 pm, trains from all three companies depart. Assuming there are no disruptions, how much time could a person have to wait to get a train from either company A, B, or C?

Solution video phrasing

The question is phrased “how much time could elapse at the station with no train departures”

Considering the current question phrasing

how much time could a person have to wait to get a train from

If we consider the explanation in the video…
5:00 - A leaves the station
5:12 - B leaves the station
5:20 - C leaves the station

If a person is at the station at 5:04 then wouldn’t he have to wait for 8mins (for train B)? Why are we not considering this scenario? How do we know the person is at the station at the right interval?

This is after a hard refresh.

“Assuming there are no disruptions, how much time could a person have to wait to get another train from either company”

Looks like its not changed?

See the last part - “right after a train…”

Ah. Yeah. Makes sense. Thanks.
