Question from "Solve Verbal Problems" Sentence Equivalence

image
I could see the pairs jeopardize and compromise clearly, but on reading question, as the blank is stressing on “access” to elite, then why cant “UNLINK” be our answer? Although it doesnt pair with others, it still fits, OR am I wrong in "not to unlink his access to elite"?

Can anyone give your thoughts on this?

Even grammatically unlink sounds good in this scenario,so can anyone let me know the gaps in my process of selecting it?or why its wrong…

Can anyone please give their reasoning on this? Maybe @Meynoush @HoldMyBeer @shrey.s.kulkarni @sciencenerd1609, what do you guys think?

I found from one user on reddit saying that always that one option which suits perfectly but doesn’t have any Synonym from liat is a trap answer. Besides this, from syntax perspective what do you guys think on why unlink is wrong here?

you may be right but since this is a SE question, there must be a pair for an answer to be correct. Unlink fits the blank but does not have a pair, so its wrong.

Correct me if this reasoning is invalid.

:woman_shrugging:t2: :thought_balloon:

As of now, this seems to be working out for right answers
