Hi! On a problem discussed in (2024 Edition with ETS Material) GRE Reading Strategy Session 10 (the Tocqueville vs. Pessen passage where we are asked to infer the author’s attitude - around 9:45 minutes into the lecture), I don’t understand why the answer is not suspicious. While the author does say that Pessen’s thesis is based on observable fact, the author also casts doubt on Pessen’s thesis in the last sentence of the passage. Laudatory implies that the author agrees with everything Pessen says.

Sorry! It’s this video, around min 9:45

Note the question doesn’t ask for the author’s overall attitude toward Pessen. What sentence contains the author’s comment on pessen’s stats?
