Question on "Remainders Part Deux"

On “Remainders Part Deux,” why is the remainder 2 in “For example, -1 divided by 3 has remainder 2.”?

I would assume:
~ 3 goes into -1 zero times
~ Thus 3*0=0
~This is 1 away from -1
~So the remainder is 1
~therefore -1/3 = 0r1

Looking for help on this logic.

-1 = 3(-1) + 2 → Remainder is 2
