Questions about learning GRE synonyms

I’m learning synonyms as I work through the vocabulary groups and I had a couple of questions:

  1. How many synonyms should I aim to learn for each word?
  2. I noticed that synonyms are listed in two different places on the flashcards (in golden at the top, and after the definition at the bottom). Which ones are the most relevant for the GRE?

  1. There is no pre-set number, and you will start to remember more as you revise the mountain. For example, I didn’t know what prosaic meant even though it was listed as a synonym for humdrum in Group 1. After I learned it later, it immediately clicked for me. You can utilize the Pairing tool under the Skill Building tab to review synonym pairs. Mainly focus on reviewing the words and connecting new words over time.

  2. I only see the synonyms after the definition. It is useful to be aware of the synonyms as previously discussed, but I wouldn’t worry or focus too much on that. That will come over time from making new connections.
