Hi. Need help with these two questions from Manhattan Ratio chapters, question 16 and 34 pg. 575 and 579. I read the explanation for the answer but can’t comprehend it. Please help.
Q 16)
The ratio of women to men is 5:6 thus, the ratio of only women will be \frac{\text{women}}{\text{total}} \text{ or } \frac{5}{11} This is our Quantity A
Similarly for quantity B, \frac{\text{left-handed people}}{\text{total}} \text{ or } \frac{7}{16}, This is our Quantity B
Now, comparing Quantity A v/s Quantity B
\frac{5}{11} \ v/s \frac{7}{16} \text{ or } \frac{80}{176} \ v/s \frac{77}{176}
Ans: Quantity A > Quantity B
Q34)
10 TC = 1 G (given) …Eq -1
6 BC = 1 M (given) …Eq -2
1 G = 1.4 * M (given) …Eq -3
From eq 1 and 3
10 TC = 1.4 M or 1 TC = 0.14 M …Eq -4
From eq 2
1 BC = \frac{1}{6} M …Eq -5
From Eq 4 and Eq 5
0.14M : \frac{1}{6} M \text{ this is ratio of 1(TC) : 1(BC)}
OR
\frac{14}{100} : \frac{1}{6} or \frac{84}{600} : \frac{100}{600}
OR
\frac{84}{100} : \frac{\text{TC}}{\text{TB}} \text{ OR } \frac{21}{25} : \frac{\text{TC}}{\text{TB}}
Thank you so much for your help! Much appreciated.
