A bit of a generic question on RC: I am taking a bit more time on reading than needed. Example, I solved one long passage from Big Book in 13 minutes; short passage in 6.6 minutes.
Wanted to check if this speed is okay?
I can also tell you what I’m thinking and how I solve a passage:
- I look out for “idea chunks”, essentially try to understand both the content + the sentence function- simultaneously rephrasing things in very easy words for myself, often in my mother tongue. For place where there’s a lot of detail (like science explanations), I just rephrase as “detail” in my head.
- I then move to questions: First rephrase question, go to para body where the relevant reference might be (except primary purpose), and then come back to ans. chioces to eliminate wrong answers
Checking what might be a more efficienct way to tackle this, and what is the ideal amount of time oe spends on RC questions on the ETS section: where we have all TC, SE, and RC.
Advice really appreciated, thanks!
