Retaking in 2.5 weeks: Quant strong but pacing issues, Verbal weak. How do I improve fast?

Hi everyone!

My first official score was [Q167 / V142]. My mocks: ETS pp1 was 310 (Q164, V146), mock 2 gregmat1 was Q159, V149. Targeting Q168+, V155+.

Quant:

* Used PrepSwift for concepts and practiced GregMat quant sets.

* Data Analysis eats about half my section time, and in the Q159 mock I rushed Section 1 (7/12) and got routed into the medium Section 2.

* I think my gap is pacing and question selection, not concepts, but Data Analysis still costs me time.

Verbal:

* Followed the GregMat 1-Month Plan [completed up to Week 3 day 3], with ETS material for homework.

* Learned vocab [Groups 1 to 12]

* Many wrong answers come in under 50 seconds, so I’m guessing when I hit unfamiliar vocab. I also miss Reading Comprehension even after reading properly.

I’m confused about whether to continue the 1-Month Plan, switch to the Overwhelmed Plan, or follow a different approach, since I only have about 2.5 weeks and roughly 5 hours a day.

Could you suggest:

1. Which plan to follow for the next 2.5 weeks?

2. How to split time between Verbal and Quant?

3. Where to practice Quant (especially Data Analysis and difficulty-5 pacing) and Verbal (Reading Comprehension, Text Completion/Sentence Equivalence)?

4. Is V155 realistic from V142, and how many full mocks should I take before the test?

I’d really appreciate specific suggestions. Thanks!

1 month plan for Verbal only.

More Verbal than Quant. Take the Foundation quizzes - #3 by ganesh Algebra and Data Analysis to zero in on the exact concepts you struggled with. After this, focus on those areas in PrepSwift. For Verbal, focus on the 1 month plan as mentioned earlier.

For Quant, filter GRE Quant Problems - GregMat for Data Analysis. After doing all those questions, move to the Big Book and solve the Data Interpretation questions there (Q21 - Q25). If you’re able to diligently practice with those questions timed, that might solve your pacing issues. Give yourself 5mins per 5-Question set. If that is small, you could increase the time at the start and gradually reduce it to 1min/question.

For Verbal, just follow the plan.

Not realistic to be honest but not impossible. Focus on the plan and memorize as much of the Vocab Mountain words as you can alongside the strategies taught in the Plan.
