So in the question in the attached screenshot, I get that the colon denotes a support, so the ideas of both sentences must be the same, but the word “misconception” in the first sentence got me thinking that the negative was already present so we have to give a positive word in the blank? More like mirrors thought should be “does not mirror” the thought, so I guessed “convoluted” would mean the blank would hold something synonymous to simple.
