[Seek Advice] How to Get 325 +

Hello,

Today I received my first GRE official result: 317 (155v, 162q). As context, I am a full-time professional and was a GMAT applicant. I switched to GRE this April. It took me a month and a half to prepare, mainly from prepswift, vocab mountain (I think up to 26 groups with at least 60% accuracy via quizlet flashcards) and mock tests (PP1 - 315 and 2 - 314).

My target is to push scores for verbal and quant to atleast 162 and 164 respectively.

I’d like to seek views and advice from experts on my 2-month preparation whether the timeline is realistic and the structure is sound. I also welcome any views for improvement.

  1. Verbal (in order)
    1. Complete 1-month study plan AND revise existing vocabs to increase memory retention
    2. Big Book GRE
    3. ETS book
  2. Quant
    1. 5lbs Book
    2. ETS Book
  3. All ETS mock tests

Thanks.

Those are great resources. I think the 1-month study plan could be useful for both.

My suggestion is below. It is essentially yours with 1-2 tweaks. Good plan overall

Verbal:

  1. 1 month plan
  2. Review all 34 groups and keep remembering more (ideally, 90+%)
  3. Big Book RC/SE
  4. ETS book

Quant

  1. 1-month plan (Quant Flashcards & associated quizzes; HW’s; PrepSwift videos to supplement)
  2. ETS book
  3. 5 lb book

ETS Mock Tests + GregMat practice tests

Hey Ryan. Thanks for the valuable suggestion. Agree on the verbal component.

For Quant, I have revisited the outline. The flashcards and week 4 of the plan (Quant toolkit) could be a great start. Oh yes, forgot about gregmat practice tests!
