Seeking advice on how to structure a GRE study plan using GregMat around a mid-summer vacation before an August 13 test date

Hi everyone! I’m new here and just getting started with my GRE prep. I’m planning to take the test around August 13 (before I head back to school), but I’ll be on vacation from July 10–28 and likely won’t have time to study during that stretch.

I’m using GregMat as my main study resource, and I’m trying to figure out the most effective plan given my timeline. For reference,I took the free ETS practice test cold (no studying at all) and scored a 155 in Quant and 154 in Verbal.

Given the break in my schedule, would it make sense to:

  • Follow the 1-Month Study Plan for both sections before my trip and review after?

  • Focus on the 1-Month Plan for Verbal and use PrepSwift for Quant?

  • Or ideally, if anyone has a different approach to structuring the study timeline around this break, I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Or is this timeline too rushed, and I should consider pushing the test back to my winter break or some other time?

Thanks in advance :raised_hands:

Depends on your target score. If you are happy with a low 160’s on both sections, this might be enough.

If not, you should consider postponing the test. Honestly, it depends on several factors. Try the 1 month plan for a week. See if you can complete 1-2 days of work in a day without feeling like you are rushing too much. If it feels you can keep up this pace and still retain the concepts you are learning, then the first plan might work. You can take a mock test after 3 weeks to check where you are at.
