how can tectonic and volcanic forces prevent the reduction?
building is positive and destroying forces is negative and there is some sort of deal/balance between the two opposing forces which prevents one from overpowering the other.
The idea before is “Erosional forces …few million years” .i.e. erosional forces cause destruction but in the next sentence we have got a contrast (however) thus, we need to go opposite of this idea of erosional forces(tectonic and volcanic forces) cause destruction.
