Support / Contrast (TC) - Q 91

Not able to find the correct word

I did trial and error and apperently it is the period. Does this make sense?

If you were solving this problem, what would your prediction be for the blank?

I thought since afforded makes the support word for blank 2, there should be something before that for blank one

You’re not answering the question, what would you predict for B1?

I would have gone for 'of the'

No I mean what word would you fill the blank with? Your prediction (not something from the sentences necessarily)

B1 → Wealth
B2 → freedom
B3 → unstable

Got it. “afforded” in this sentence means “allowed” not “gave money for”. Would that change your predictions?

Ohh okay, got it thanks!

Yeah, but don’t worry about it too much. It’s not an ETS question not worth thinking to deeply about.
