Support/Contrast Verbal Practise

Hello,
Can someone please explain the support contrast logic for the first two blanks
For the sentence as a whole i am seeing a time contrast : the phrase At once

At once can mean “right now”, but it also means “simultaneously”.

The particular phrasing we see in this question (ie, at once _____ and _____) is often used to indicate a juxtaposition—two contrasting ideas that exist simultaneously.

We can see another clue that these blanks are contrasts later in the sentence when ‘she’ is described as “both fascinating and vexing”. Notice the familiar pattern (_____ and _____), as well as the relationship between the two words (fascinating vs. vexing), then apply this logic to the blanks.

Also, in order to use time contrast as a strategy, we need to have two time periods being compared (eg, then and now). Even if at once was meant in the sense of “right now”, we have no other time words to compare it to.
