“The notion that a parasite can alter the behavior of a host organism is not mere fiction; indeed, the phenomenon is not even _____.” Answer choices: A) observable, B) real, C) comprehended, D) rare, E) imaginable. For this specific question, I used the math strategy “; indeed” indicates support, and for the blank, I reused fiction and picked imaginable. The answer is rare, but I am assuming that where I am going wrong with TC is the logic of the sentence. Are there ways to improve this? I feel like this does happen quite a lot for me and is my biggest hurdle to improving my GRE. I am good at understanding whether a sentence is being supported or contrasted and using evidence from the sentence to make my semantic guess.
“fiction” was a good prediction but “imaginable” is basically the opposite of that.
