TC GRE Verbal- 'and'

Why is Iconoclastic wrong? There’s a blank and Iconic is written. And suggests support. Shouldn’t the answer be ‘Iconoclastic and Iconic’. Whenever and is written - don’t we put the exact same word there in the blank?

Meaning of iconoclastic:
criticizing or attacking cherished beliefs or institutions.

Also the ubiquitous comes from “seen throughout New York”
