I solved it correctly using semantics, but am not sure how to do this using connotation. I understand that ‘makes’ supports the two ideas. If I say that the second idea is ‘bad’, which it seems to be because if attractiveness = stupidity, that can’t be good.
Then “Wade’s _____ appearance” must also be bad, so how do we go ahead with saying that the blank would be good? What’s the logic for connotation?
I dont think good or bad would be a good strategy here. It seems like a case where block of 4 (see in prepswift) would apply, where you have
Wades __ appearance = unserious
vs.
attractiveness = brainless
Keeping the relationship, we’d think that wade has an attractive appearance.
