TC - Support / Contrast

Hi Greg - Can you please help with the approach to the second blank in the question to identify contrast / support and idea?

Simplified: The junior member didn’t do ____ because he did not wish to appear _____.

Since he is junior, he may want the senior people to look at him positively. Thus, he might not offer up any criticism of the senior members’ plan.

There is a support because of the comma. Since the second part of the sentence says he avoided providing criticism to protect his image, then the first part should say the same. Be careful because “not wishing to” needs to have a negative word after it to mean “appear good”. For example, not wishing to appear bad = wanting to appear neutral or good (depending on context)
