Hey Guys, so I have been practicing TC from the Old GRE book and have been averaging at about 10/14. I usually fall into the trap or chose the wrong answer after elimination (The last 2 options left). How do improve this? Am I missing something?

Spent some time on reviewing. Review not only the ones which you got wrong but also the ones which you did get right. Try to find reason behind how you were able to come to the conclusion that this was the correct one. Also, polish your vocabulary, learn word usages, learn 2nd 3rd definition of the words and justify why other blanks were wrong these are some of the way in which you can boost your TC skills.
