In this question I chose B, the reason it is said to be wrong is since features doesn’t match with the stipulation of the first blank being a bad thing.
However I guessed the first blank was categories, as I didn’t see a feature of the sentence to indicate expense is necessarily a bad thing, is the phrase: “cannot be numbered” the clue for saying something is a bad thing?
The phrase “cannot be numbered” in this context likely means that expense is not among the considerations or problems associated with the project. It doesn’t necessarily indicate that something is a “bad thing,” but rather that it is not part of the list of things to consider (there is no word or phrase that pointing towards it being a negative thing). Therefore, a word that fits the first blank might be something like “concerns” or “limitations,” suggesting that expense is not one of the issues facing the project.
In this case, the clue doesn’t specifically say that “expense” is a bad thing, but it does imply that expense is not a significant factor or concern in the execution of the project. So, you would want a word in the first blank that aligns with this idea.
For the second blank, since expense is not a concern, you would want a word that implies efficiency or cost-effectiveness, such as “economy” or “frugality.”
Hi HoldMyBeer,
Thanks for your response,
So if we put down “concerns” or “limitations,” for the first blank, why would we choose “defects” over “features”, its neither but I can at least say a “concern” or “limitation” is an example of a feature but it isn’t necessarily an example of a “defect”
“Features” generally has a neutral or positive connotation, making it less likely that expense would be excluded from such a list. “Claims” doesn’t really fit the context at all, as it generally refers to assertions or statements, not to attributes or characteristics of a project.
So, while “defects” is not a perfect match, it’s the closest among the given choices to the idea that expense is not a significant limiting factor for the project.
