The wayward child answer?

The wayward child often got into trouble.

The word ‘wayward’ really means ‘following capricious desires’ or ‘acting haphazardly’. I chose “reckless” but the correct answer is “stubborn”. Neither is quite correct but IMHO reckless is a better fit.
