Timed Quant Practice - Hard Section 2 Sample Test #5 - Question 7

In this question, the equilateral triangle folds in to make a shape of the cone.

But, doesn’t the side become the circumference then?

Answer states that the sides become the diameter instead.
So {r} becomes 4 rather than \frac{4}{\pi}.
Would like to have an explanation as to why this is.

It’s rotated. The triangle itself is not modified in any way.
