The question asks “The new president of the nation was elected with the promise of _________ revolution, a populist rhetoric that has many, including those in the government, worried.”
Answer choices:
inciting (correct)
deriding
quelling
fomenting (correct)
abating
trivializing
My logic/question
I selected quelling and abating (incorrect). Since the question is asking about the new president (member of government) and the revolution has the government worried, I thought the new president would want to put an end to or stop the revolution. Why is this incorrect? If he is worried why would he encourage a revolution?
