Hey Team,
Recently took my second attempt at GRE and scored a 323 (158V and 165Q). Happy with my Quant score but I would like to re-attempt for an increased verbal score. Here is my synopsis of the diagnostic analysis of my recent attempt in VA sections:
-
I need to work on harder TC problems- including those with nuanced meaning and/or 1+ blanks. My strategy to attack TC is to understand the prompt while reading slowly, following math strategy, predicting a word for the blank and then going to options.
-
RC is where I feel least confident. Mostly inference questions. My strategy here is to again understand the passage, simplifying, and then going to options, eliminating until I close it down to the last 2 options that i feel align with my understanding. Then I evaluate those 2 based on evidence given in the passage.
-
Another weak spot is CR- mostly the weakening type.
VA 1: Total Wrong - 3; 1 RC (long) (difficulty- 3), 1 TC (2-blank) (difficulty- 4), 1 SE (difficulty- 4)
VA - 2: Total Wrong - 7; 1 Long RC (difficulty- 2), 2 short RC (difficulty- 5), 3 TC (difficulty- 4 & 5), 1 SE (difficulty- 5)
Please suggest a plan to increase my score. Let me know in case any additional data is needed.
