I had a doubt if the score report of the TOEFL home edition mentions that the test was taken at home?
Because in the case of GRE, ETS specifically mentions that the universities will not know if the test was home-based.
Moreover, ETS considers the TOEFL home edition as a separate test and has a separate website for the same.

I think the universities know because when I applied some mentioned they have started accepting TOEFL home edition as well(Again, mail you’re selected universities programs to confirm the same!!).TOEFL official site also provide a portal to check who accept at home edition : https://www.ets.org/toefl/test-takers/ibt/scores/understanding/home-edition-acceptance/
For example if they don’t accept it :
This is exactly what I was looking for.
That means it is probably safer to take the test at the center to avoid any problems at a later stage.

Yes they know it is Home Edition. Also they will receive the picture of you that you have to take at the begining of the test, just so you know
