Hi,
Can some one make me understand the issue here.
I just got my TOEFL writing score, I got 24. However I was expecting at least 28+.
I followed the exact same pattern as Greg mentioned in his TOEFL series.
I used proper structure, negligible grammatical mistakes, 5 paragraphs with 1 intro, 3 reasons for body para and 1 conclusion.
I even wrote more words than the limit, 400 in one and 480 in other.
The prompts being simple were clear to me, and I don’t think so I was off topic at all.
I couldn’t understand where I lost the marks as there is no feedback.
Does anyone know what’s happening with writing section?
P.S - I scored 4/6 in my GRE AWA, to give you a context.
Score are graded combined by (an AI + a human) based on various rubrics describe in-here → LINK if you take the computer based test. Once , we got our scores, I don’t think we can do much about it. (Maybe contact ETS and ask them if they have a score review policy). I would personally only care about it if a certain school requires my score to be high than I have .
As I had marked few colleges to report the score, so I can’t request for a score review as per ETS policy.
I don’t need specifically that high in writing section but my total is 2 marks less than the min requirement for 2 of the colleges. So I think I need to re-take the exam.
The only issue is, how to go about the writing section in the second attempt, as I don’t even know where I had lost the marks, despite it being excellent from my end.
Any suggestions @gregmat @admin_gregmat
Thanks
Maybe just bad luck? Perhaps if you take it again you’ll kill it
