Hi! Not sure how best to phrase this. Could someone help me with a list of popular or frequently used english phrases in word problems and how they are translated in Math. I struggle with this. Here is an example of what I am looking for:
(1) More than = Addition. E.g. X is 3 more than Y means X = Y+3
(2) * times = Multiplication. E.g. X is 3 times Y means X = 3Y
(3) * times more = ? e.g. X is 3 times more than Y. Could this mean X = Y + 3X
Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
