Trapezoid Definition- I'm Overwhelmed Geometry Progress Quiz #6 Question #2

Hello, what would the GRE say is the official definition of a trapezoid? The prepswift videos say that a trapezoid is a quadrilateral with at least 1 pair of parallel sides.

This is the question: A rhombus is a trapezoid with two pairs of parallel sides.
true or false? (the answer is false)

If the definition includes at least one pair of parallel sides, then a rhombus would technically be a trapezoid. Would you say that the definition ETS uses is one pair of parallel sides?

@Leaderboard what do you think? The math review guide does not seem to mention rhombus

The definition ETS uses is correct. The issue is that a rhombus must also have 4 equal sides, so all rhombuses are trapezoids but not the other way around.

That is correct. Is PrepSwift implying otherwise?

“a trapezoid with two pairs of parallel sides” = parallelogram. All sides need not be equal.
