Tricky wording

image
Hi all, For some reason i’m getting really confused by the wording of this question. It says “every family has a son, a daughter, both or none”. Does this mean that few people who have “none” exist? If so then the answer will be A. But because we are assuming “None” to be 0 too, answer is D.

Please help!

None can be 0 too because examine a situation like:

“students in a class either get grades A,B,C,D,E, or F”

However, this doesn’t imply that all the students should get one of the possible grades. It is possible that every student is only assigned a grade from A - C.

thanks!
