Urgent: Time Issue with the 2-month Study Plan

Hi there,

I am being unable to complete each day in 1 day. So far, It has taken me 2 days to complete Day 1, even though I have skipped things that were labeled “optional.” Day 2 was the same thing. So basically, if I moved on with this pace, I would finish my studies in 4 months, whereas my exam is only in 2 months. I am a Fulbright candidate; I passed the interview phase. And I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This is the chance of my life and don’t want to miss it.

For the Verbal part, I’ve watched these long 1-hour sessions at the beginning of day 1 and day 2, which were very time-consuming. I tried to speed up or skip the parts of the videos in which students were talking, however the videos are still lengthy. I believe the core strategies and examples in each video would’ve only taken like 15 or 20 minutes if these same sessions were cropped. If the core content were created in short videos just the same way as you’ve done with the quant part in Prepswift, this would have made a big difference.

For the Quant part, I only do the Prepswift videos with the relative quizzes below each video.

So, what do you suggest so I could finish my preparation on time? Are there any alternatives to these long verbal sessions in the beginning of each day of the 2-month plan to help me save time and complete each day in only 1 day?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Essam

You could shift over to the 1 month plan—what is your timeline to take the test? Regardless, it’s ultimately up to your discretion on how you want to utilize the website resources. Try to be comprehensive but be sure that any plan you follow fits your timeline!

Hi there,
Thanks for your response. It is much appreciated. My exam is in two months. I’ve just had a glance at the 1-month study plan; it contains the same long verbal sessions.

OK. There are a few things you can keep in mind:

  1. Shifting to the 1 month plan. At the end of week 1 you will be asked to take a practice test.
  2. Figure out an estimate of your score now and your goal score. This determines a bit of how much to study
  3. Based on that, try to identify weaknesses in verbal and quant and go from there. Try your best to “weather the storm” with the plans until you get a good sense of the most efficient way to work through it.

There is really no shortcut, but everyone has their own strengths which they can rely on in a time crunch. In the end, if you don’t have the time to fit it into your study window, try your best to come away with the most useful strategies for you.

Why not do the 1-month plan? Also are you using PrepSwift or the long 1-hour videos?

Hi there, thanks for the response. I am using Prepswift only for the Quant. The reason I am not using Prepswift for the verbal part is that it is not mentioned or is not directed to do so in the 2-month or 1-month study plan.

Yes, I have been using the long TC SE video sessions for the verbal. And this was mainly what hold me back from getting day 1 or day 2 done in only 1 day. Also, I’ve been studying vocab mountain and the excel support/contrast words and phrases.

By the way, I’ve noticed on the app that there is a plan called overwhelmed plan, and I think it has a verbal mountain that is sort of like shorter videos. Would these help solve my issue?

Not fully, but that could help you get a grip before you continue the 1/2 month plan (not from scratch).
