"vacillate" and "prevaricate" pairing error

I found an error in the ‘pairing’ strategy practice. It claims that “vacillate” and “prevaricate” are pairs: but these words mean very different things. The former is to vary between multiple positions and the latter is to speak evasively (closer to equivocate)

Yes, “vacillate” and “prevaricate” are different in strict meaning,
but in GRE Sentence Equivalence, they can absolutely be a correct pair
when the context is someone being evasive, hesitant, or avoiding a firm answer.

Maybe I don’t understand the task then (though I’ve been getting 90%+ otherwise). Is the idea that you can use these in the same sentence? Maybe its a little subjective and I just think they are more different than they are.
