Verbal Practice question SE

Above is the pairing which I have done.

Now since in the question two contrasting times are shown i.e. modern and historical so this is a time contrast, right?

So I choose juxtaposes and favors as juxtapose means to keep something contrasting side by side to shoe contrast and favors means to choose one over other.

I know the pairing of juxtapose with favor is not quit right, but still since in the sentence two contrasting themes are shown wont the blank be juxtaposes and favors.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

No, favors and juxtaposes don’t seem to be a pair, as they mean two different things.
