Hey, I am struggling to understand the logic of the answer option Greg chose .
My logic for option C - inquisitive is that it seems( I know ‘seems’) to be a synonym of eagerly. An inquisitive person is curious - doesn’t that mean that person is eager too?
Yeah, ‘inquisitive’ means curious, but does it mean eagerly attentive? Also, being inquisitive is an active skill. The question states that newborn infants are neither active nor passive, but actively ______. This means they’re a bit of both. They already wrote actively before the blank, so the blank must be a passive word. Receptive is passive. Additionally, they mention eagerly attentive to sights and sounds which basically means newborns are open/responsive/receptive to these senses. Hope this helps!
