How do we figure this out? I couldn’t figure out the strategy.I couldn’t relate (ii) to hunger and couldn’t understand what would come in (i).

I only solved (iii) due to chronically lean mentioned in the line following (iii)

From the first sentence we get a sense that something didn’t lived up to to the popular expectation.
Then we got a sentence which is describing Hunger and before blank(iii) we got the idea of “Hunger…contemporary groups” and blank(iii) → Thus, blank(iii) will be something related to hunger (You can use the sentence after the blank(iii)to get the same idea ). Now, this idea of “hunger” does not align with the popular image that anthropologists held for primitive people thus, blank(ii) will be the idea of not hungry (resourceful will be a good guess) and blank(i) will be the idea that this image in blank(ii) is wrong.

How do we get the sense from the first sentence that something didn’t live up to the popular expectation? And how do we know that "hunger"doesn’t align with the popular image?

Alternatively you can treat blank (i) & (ii) as a double possibility as done by Greghttps://www.reddit.com/r/GRE/comments/jyqdea/ppp1_the_smallest_human_societies_that_we_can/
