Social tensions among adult factions can be ------- by politics, but adolescents and children have no such ------- for resolving their conflict with the exclusive world of adults.
(A) intensified … attitude
(B) complicated … relief
(C) frustrated … justification
(D) adjusted … mechanism
(E) revealed … opportunity
Why A is not the answer?
We dont have any proof that politics intensifies social tensions
You can solve the second blank using Bo4
Adults - can be resolved/intensified by politics (politics is a way to reduce or increase)
Adolescents & children - no such mechanism for resolving
Is the answer D?
Why I think answer A is not a good choice is cause there is no evidence within the sentence that hints attitude or behaviour right?
Also an easier way to solve this question would be using Math Strategy
(adults… can be ___) but (adolescents and children have no such ___ for resolving)
the word but indicates contrast, and the contrast already exists in the statement

Can you please elaborate on this math strategy using (-) and (+) signs and doing the calculations? I am not able to understand the calculation.

Take sometime with the Math Strategy Videos posted by Greg. If you have time (like a month or two) would suggest going through his study plan course. Else you can check this Determining Support/Contrast
Hey think in this direction -
Social tension among adult could be (worsened/ improved) (double possibility) now we have ‘but’ which indicate contrast and second blank has ‘no’ too. So second blank would go like (issue/ease). So both our blank are synonyms
Now option choice are bit tricky
a. intensified works but attitude means point of view, belief (none of its connation means worse or something like that)
d. adjusted (to alter, to make good) mechanism would mean like ease (have so much ease for resolving)
So D is better option
