1.Does this question come from ancient Roman history again I guess?
so commend indicating the blank is a positive word, combining with context, the only one that
makes sense is aggrandize.
2. Since even experts have trouble with navigating, that theory must be hard. Thus, we are looking
for a synonym for difficult or hard—>D recondite.
Just checked the answer then I like :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s how I tackled number 1:

The devision sign: Comma

Comma indicates support

The word that I guess for blank: Criticize

And that’s how I rephrased it:

In some situation for preventing more criticism Liam followed a plan that any general would admire, he criticized himself among his peers.

A: burnished = polished (off topic)

B: isolated = quarantined ( that’s not what any military general do and it doesn’t mean criticize)

C: aggrandized: honoured (that’s not what any military general do and it doesn’t mean criticize)

D: appeased ( does it mean the military general was crying?)

E: deprecated = condemn, denounce, execrate, reprobate, pan, cane, derogate, criticize

So I would say E is the answer, but I might be wrong.

Number 2: :speak_no_evil:

The devision sign: Semicolon

Semicolon indicates support

The word that I guess for blank: Complex

And that’s how I rephrased it:

the lawyer didn’t want to neither dismiss the case or increase the violence, so she was hoping to slow the process down by a complex theory that even the most bad ass experts would struggle to handle it.

A: libelous = fake

B: imminent= close, near to happen

C: axiomatic= unquestionable

D: recondite = abstruse, obscure, Alexandrian, cabalistic, complex, complicated

E: exculpatory theory = a theory that clears the defendant of guilt

Therefore, I would say D should be the answer.

Please, let me know if my analysis is correct.
