In Q-44, why cannot we use “contention” in place of Diatribe as Google says Contention means disagreement.

Context. Let me paint a vivid picture for you. That corrupt politician does something bad again and you are having dinner with your family. Would you say “Oh I disagree with him or her, this is such a bad move” or do you say “this dude is bitter than a bitter gourd and we should throw eggs at his or her evil face?”
If you pick the latter, that’s diatribe.
