Ps: The passage is an excerpt and not the entire passage, but the question can be answered.

answer is (A) [ according to Greg and I agree with it as line 40 says heating capacity is proportional to outdoor temp]

my doubt is option (C) because:

On reading line (45) I understood heating capacity is proportional to mass flow rate which in turn is proportional to how much the compressor is compressing the mass.

So isn’t option C saying as the compressor runs fastest so heating capacity should be the greatest.

please help!

I think we have to engage in storytelling to go from the text to anything about compressor speed. Also the compressor is single-speed!

We don’t want to think when doing RC questions beyond the very basic common sense logic of an inference like A.

RC is Reading Comprehension, not critical thinking.
