Weird questions on GRE Quant

I gave GRE a month ago and got 164 in quant. In the test i saw some weird questions like one on a pyramid. I watched the quant concept series by Greg and he mentioned pyramids aren’t really asked on GRE but belive it or not i did get a question. Had to calculate one of the base angles. This question threw me off. I had 2-3 more weird questions like this and it wasn’t the experimental section because i had only 2 quant sections in my test and 3 verbal. I do make silly mistakes too. Out of 40 i do get 1-2 questions wrong but apart from that I’m able to nail the rest. But on the actual exam because i got 3-4 weird questions like this i got a lower score than my target(168+) I am appearing for the exam again on 3rd September but i don’t know where to find such questions. Obviously I tried to Google but that had really complex maths articles on pyramids and stuff. Where can I find such questions? Also i practiced from the GRE material and Manhattan 5lb. When I gave the test i didn’t know about Greg’s platform. After the test i discovered this platform and joined it. I am working on getting rid of my old habits and not using algebra to solve every question etc and following Greg’s strategies but i do want to study more for 3D figures. Can someone please suggest how to go about it? Don’t want to miss these questions in my second attempt

For 3D geometry, you can refer Quantitative Aptitude by RD Sharma. It is not GRE book, but Quants book. It has all range of problems from easy to difficult.

I gave the exam two times , and both times I never encountered any questions in Quants that lay outside the concepts that are present in OG book + 5lb. Maybe take a look at your diagnostic report again!

Hey Greg! I have done quite an analysis of my report and i do remember that question also very well. As you said, I too didn’t expect anything like that. I actually read that question multiple times thinking probably I am missing some trick to solve it and it might convert to some do-able triangle question. The top angle for a pyramid was given, one base angle of the front face and then another base angle was asked for an adjacent face. The base was rectangular and it was a 3D pyramid. It was only one question but to get a perfect score i don’t want to leave any topic from my end. The rest is upto what happens on the day of the exam.

Are you talking about the 12th class book? I tried finding it online but didn’t see a chapter on 3D geometry

Sorry, RS Aggarwal. Its very famous for preparing for quantitative aptitude.
