I have my 2nd GRE attempt in 5 days. I scored a 310 (162q 148v) in my first attempt.
My target is a 320+ with atleast a 166 in Quant. I have gone through a few Gregmat strategies when for both Q and V. From my first GRE analysis I noticed that almost all of my mistakes were in the level 4 and 5 problems in quant. How do I improve on this in the next few days? Any last minute verbal tips would also be greatly appreciated.
Look at GMAT problems and GregMat’s own hard and extreme problems
Straight skip to the question-type which are your strength . For eg: I knew I was good at solving 2 blankers TCs because I got a high accuracy under good time on them in my mocks thus, I would straight skip questions until I see a two blanker then I go short RC’s → SE → 3 Blankers TCs–> Long RCs and then at last I did 1 blankers TCs.
Hence, play on your strengths , have a gameplan. Analyze your mocks and official diagnostic report to see which questions types you’re good at and prioritize them!
Also, make a habit to skip question if you’re not going anywhere with them under 45 secs(20-30 sec is the ideal scenario ) → Choose random answer and mark the question → move on
Hey thanks a lot, as far as the vocab, I have done about 500-600 words from a 3rd party app. Even after that I SERIOUSLY struggle with most of the words on the verbal sections. Should I push myself to try to cramp up as many more until the final day? What should my plan be
Are you comfortable with majority of the words on that list ? If not, then try to first revise and get done with the list and then start adding new words in a small quantity . The goal should be to be able to remember the words by heart and not some partial definition( quality over quantity ).
I agree. I am familiar with about 80-85% of words on that list. I’ll make sure to up that to atleast 90% till my exam date.
Currently my study plan for the next 5 days is:
60 minutes of Vocab (only doing words)
Any two Gregmat verbal strategy videos
One to two quant concept videos
Solving 15-20 hard to extreme difficulty quant questions
If there is anything you think I should change or add please let me know, would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
how did you do??
