Currently a rising senior (in my last year of undergrad). I’m starting to study for the test using the 2-month guide but I want to apply for my masters by the end of December (when college apps are due). When do you recommend I take the test? Also, do they take your highest score or a median?

i would study devotedly in the summer and take it at the end of August or before classes get busy
After completing test you get the option to choose if you want to send your recent score or all of the previous test scores. (You get a option to send 4 free score reports after you completed the test on your test day)

Ideally you should take one as early as you can because writing SOPs, Diversity Statements and getting your LORs is a much more grueling task than GRE. Also, if you’re applying for competitive programs then there would be a possibility that you’ve to take GRE more than once (between 2 attempts a gap of 21 day is required ) so, keep that in your calculations when selecting the dates.
