Hi, I’m a new subscriber to GregMat and I’m currently on the 2-month plan (Day 3). I’ve been able to get through Greg’s content, but it usually takes me at least 4–5 hours of studying per day, and I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.
I have more than two months until my GRE exam and was wondering how others who followed the 2-month study plan managed the lengthy videos, homework, etc. I also noticed that PrepSwift seems much shorter and more to the point, so I was wondering if people used it alongside the main videos or as a substitute for some of them.
I’m sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed. You can certainly mix and match plans as needed–the most important thing is understanding your learning process and knowing when to change. This is where practice problems and assessments (like the tick box quizzes) come in handy.
I would recommend trying to get through the first week of the 2-month plan (day 7 is when you take your diagnostic; make sure it’s the ETS Power Prep), and depending on the results vs. your target score, you can triage areas of concern. If you haven’t already, you should check out the Must See Recordings, as these should provide a good starting point for how to structure your studying and assess your progress.
At this point, if you still have more specific questions, let me know.
Hi Alina, thank you very much for getting back to me! I just watched one of the Must See Recordings (10 Ways You’re Sabotaging Your GRE Prep) and I noticed a lot of the students that were in a similar place to where I am, are doing the I’m overwhelmed plan + Quant Quizzes (to Reinforce learning) coupled with doing the verbal section only in the one-month study plan. I am curious as to if you have any thoughts on this strategy.
Currently, I am on the month-plan and have been trying my best to complete each day in Week One in a timely fashion and am starting to feel the early stages of burnout. I get through all the videos for the day but don’t have enough time to truly practice with the questions (albeit I am trying to stay on top with my verbal and do the vocab mountain). Thank you very much and I hope to hear back from you soon!
